Economy of Nias Selatan Regency Grows by 5.02 Percent

Abstract

The economy of Nias Selatan Regency grew by 5.02 percent in 2018. This growth experienced a significant acceleration compared to the previous year. Based on the production approach, the highest growth was achieved by the transportation and warehousing business field at 8.05 percent, followed by the information and communication business field at 6.99 percent and the mining and quarrying business field at 6.79 percent.

Under the expenditure approach, the import component achieved the highest growth of 10.25 percent, followed by the consumption consumption component of 7.71 percent and the gross fixed capital formation component of 7.60 percent.

Three business fields that played a dominant role in the Nias Selatan's GRDP in 2018 were: agriculture, forestry and fisheries by 44.95 percent, construction by 14.36 percent, and government administration, defense and mandatory social security by 9.44 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the household consumption expenditure component (PKRT) made the biggest contribution at 88.02 percent, followed by the imports of goods and services at 74.48 percent and the goods and services export component at 29.34 percent.

Nominally, Nias Selatan's GRDP in 2018 based on current prices reached IDR6.26 trillion and GRDP at constant 2010 prices reached IDR4.02 trillion.
