The Human Development Index (HDI) of Nias Selatan Regency in 2023 reached 64.98

The 2023 Human Development Index (HDI) has increased compared to the previous year. The 2023 Nias Selatan HDI was 64.98 or grew by 1.45 per cent (an increase of 0.93 points) compared to the 2022 HDI achievement.

The increase in HDI in 2023 was supported by improvements in all of its constituent components. The HDI component with the highest growth in 2023 is the average years of schooling. In 2023, the average years of schooling has increased by 4.01 per cent compared to 2022.

In terms of education, in 2023 children aged 7 years and above have the expectation of enjoying education for 12.78 years or almost equivalent to the length of time to complete education to high school level. This figure increased by 0.3 years compared to 2022 which reached 12.48 years.

In terms of health, babies born in 2023 have a life expectancy of 71.61 years, 0.32 years longer than those born in the previous year.
