- Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
- NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
- In October 2021, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018=100) was recorded at 123.21, an increase of 2.16 percent compared to the NTP of September 2021, which was 120.61.
- The increase in NTP in October 2021 was due to an increase in FTT in four sub-sectors, namely the NTP for the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.65 percent, the NTP for the People's Plantation Sub-sector by 3.71 percent, the NTP for the Livestock Sub-sector by 0.26 percent, and the NTP for the Fisheries sub-sector by 0. 78 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the Horticulture subsector decreased by 1.26 percent.
- Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation/deflation. In October 2021, there was a rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.24 percent.
- The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) of North Sumatra Province in October 2021 was 123.04 or an increase of 1.79 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
